Applicate ver.0

A new game from the creator of the Grow series is out and it's called Applicate. Very short simple game of dropping apples. There's no directions, but it's not that hard to figure out.

The objective of each of the five levels is to get an apple eye guy (see the image... the apples with eyes in them are apple eye guys) to the door. Every time you click on an apple that is already on the screen, you take a bite out of it, dropping a new apple where the arrow is currently located. If you drop an apple on an uneaten apple, an apple eye guy will appear.

Keep in mind, he will always try walking to the right first. You may need to block his way to get him to turn around and go back to the doorway.

It sounds weird, but the graphics are as good as always. If you need any hints, ask below in the comments and I'll try to walk you through each level.

With only five levels, this is a short game to play if you're interested.

Brute Wars

Brute Wars is a pretty good RPG game just released on kongregate. Pick your team of brutes (animals) making sure to balance your magical prowess as well as your brute force. Then get out there and conquer the castles in an attempt to reach mount Asio.

Really, the story line isn't all that exciting, nor is it all that pertinent to the game play.
Just put together the best team you can. You'll have to take into account several different factors to advance.

First, there's a front and a back line. Keep your power hitters up front, and your distance hitters in back. But if someone's taking a beating, it's helpful to have another power hitter to switch in for him.

You only get so many actions a turn, so replacing someone in the front line may use up all your actions for a turn. Later on in the game, you'll have more actions per turn to play with, making it easier to switch men in and out.

The gameplay is not intuitive, so read through the directions.

Magical spells are stronger if you have more of the same type of character (water, fire, brute, etc...) But it also makes it more likely you could go up against someone who's in a great position to hit you in your weak point. I liked to balance things out more.

You can replace some of your characters by getting to a shop and buying a randomizer. That's the only way to get shadow creatures. This option will not be available right away.

You can travel back over spots you've already fought for to engage in random battles and build up points to buy food, syringes (to wake up those dozing creatures -- they've been knocked out) and randomizers. You also need the points to buy the upgrades (treasure chests on the map).

Meet In Ver.0 Walkthrough

The famous author of the Grow series is back with a new game after a prolonged sickness (I'm glad to see he's feeling better!). The new game, Meet In, is like his other puzzle games, but also unlike them. It's cute, short and fun, but definitely has the same feeling to it as his other games.

For a complete walkthrough, look below, but in the meantime, go play!

Play Meet In Ver.0 at eyezmaze.

Walkthrough

In the first box, I'm going to label this one dad. The second box (top right) is going to be mom. The bottom left is baby and the bottom right is kid.

Move the baby onto the blue button. Mom is now free to move down into the hedge maze. Move her onto the button at the bottom of the maze.

Switch to dad and move him onto the moving platform that mom just engaged (just head south in the hedge maze). Move the baby onto the other button on it's screen to move dad to the other side.

Move dad to the right and sit on the bottom of the two buttons to change the stone maze the kid is in. Keep switching the stone maze back and forth and moving the kid around until he is free and in the upper left corner. Move the kid up until he steps on the orange button to remove the orange square for dad to pass through.

Dad can step on the green button to remove the green obstruction from the kids way. Have the kid step on the purple button to remove the purple block from the baby's way.

Dad, kid and baby can now enter the room with MEET on the floor. Place each of them on their respective color to allow mom to enter as well. Switch to mom and bring her in and put her on the final T. You Win!

The Life Ark

A point and click adventure, the Life Ark puts you in charge of developing life on a planet. Develop life through fire, water, alien life forms and big old teapots.

Like Grow, Warbears and Sprout, the objective is to click on the right things in the right order. The actions will take place automatically and you will soon have a green and lush forest along with all the animals (two by two) on your planet to enjoy. But if you click on them in the wrong order, your trees will die off, your little helpers (men) will pass out from the heat, and basically you'll just have to reset and start over.

That is, unless, you were willing to use the walkthrough below.

Play the Life Ark at freeworldgroup.

Walkthrough

Click on the tablet (in the middle of the ground). Choose the right symbol. Note the small circles or triangles or spots or whatever it appears to be that move around the card as you move from card to card. Just complete the pattern. An outlet appears where the tablet was.

Click on the cord hanging from the cloud to get it to start moving. When it's over the outlet, click on the cord again. Click on the outlet. When the cloud gets charged up (turns black), click on the plug to release it.

Click on the cord again to move the cloud over the rock in the volcano. Click on the rock. Click on the door in the mountain. Hit the button in the center until both disks have the fire at the top.

Click on the fire (left side of volcano). The cloud may have floated around. Move it over the mountain again. Click on the steam clouds (circles) floating up.

After the cloud absorbs enough water (turns dark gray), move the cloud out over the pond. Click on the pond to dump some water.

Click on the trees to get an apple to fall. Click on the cave. Click on the apple to get the man to eat it (apple of knowledge). Click on the man (his head) to turn it into an radio signal.

When the spaceship arrives, click on the cave again. Click on the river to get the new man to move the water over to the plant to help it grow. Click on the plant to climb up and get the blue gem.

Click on the fire to change the teapot into another UFO. Click on the picture of the UFO. Click on the read teapot, then on the hatch on the boat. Solve the puzzle (similar to the first one).

Warlords: Call to Arms

Warlords is a strategy war game that just isn't all that strategic. Build your army one guy at a time and send him across the board. The bigger your guy is, the longer it takes for him to be sent. The number of men (or demons or elves or ...) you can build is very impressive.

Unfortunately, as I already said, this game isn't that hard to beat. Here's how to do it in 4 steps

1) Always choose the hardest level to beat. While it may make sense to beat the easier levels first, it actually makes it harder in the long run as the difficulty increases with each level. Buying upgrades is nice, but not key to winning.

2) Set your options to auto release. Either that or get used to holding the space bar down.

3) Send 95% of your guys along one row (as you can see from the picture).

4) Select charge when you can.

And that's it. You'll beat every level by overwhelming that one row of attackers. The only exception is when you face off against the troll giants, as they can stomp right along that one row. In that level, just send your speediest guys along every row (in other words, spread out your attack).

By beating the harder levels first, you'll have an easier time completing the game at the end.

I had fun playing this game, it's too bad I figured out such an easy way to beat it. Playing as the demons isn't all that different from playing with any other race, so I'm not sure how much of a
reward they are.

Even More Bloons

In case you didn't get enough out of Bloons and More Bloons followed up by Bloons World and then by Bloons Tower Defense and Bloons Tower Defense 2, now Ninja Kiwi has released Even More Bloons for your entertainment.

Aim with your mouse, and hold down the left button to set the power. One nice addition is the last shot (power and angle) will be shown so that you can adjust accordingly. One annoying things is how the clouds float by, making it harder to judge where you left your last shot when you have to try again. The later levels can be very, very tough to complete.

I'm not going to post a walkthrough for this one in the comments, but you can certainly ask me if you get stuck anywhere. I'll be happy to help you out, as long as I've figured out how to do it.

I find Bloons to be very frustrating, but I keep going back for more. How about you?

Multball Madness

Multiball madness is a mindless time wasting fun game from armor games. Simple game play with addictive "I can do better than that" will get you playing again and again.

Simply keep your paddle under the balls and clear out the path ahead. Reminds me of breakout, but not quite. More like juggling madness.

The longer you last, the more balls will appear. The only way to die is to run your paddle up against a block, so be careful. It's more important to keep as many balls flying around than it is to aim any particular one.

Papas Pizzeria

Papas Pizzeria starts out by promoting you from delivery boy to order taker, pizza maker and all around boss of your own pizza place because the real owner decided to take off and leave it to you. So get cooking those pies before your customers get too angry.

Like BP Gas Mania, Nanny Mania and Hot Shot Business, the objective is to make money by keeping your customers happy. Make sure to make the pizza they want. Each customer will want their favorite toppings, cooked as long as they wanted, and cut a certain way.

What I like is how each customer can be built up. Keep their service level high and they'll reward you more each time they come. Blow their order and they'll remember it the next day with lower tips. I'm also amused by all the Pizza ads on the site.

What I don't like is how complicated the game can be. For a casual game, it's not easy to flip from screen to screen. I screwed up one order by giving the wrong customer his pizza because I left the wrong order slip out. Also, I still haven't figured out how to know if a new customer has shown up other than by sticking your head out (figuratively speaking). Maybe a bell ringing as they enter the door would be a nice touch?

Orb Avoidance 2

Orb Avoidance 2 is a definite upgrade from orb avoidance. With better graphics and more options, including exploding blocks, its become a lot harder to last very long.

Orb avoidance was too easy to game. Sneak up to a block near the top or the bottom of the screen and tuck your pointer in close. The incoming orbs will never hit you and you can play indefinitely, or at least until you need to use your mouse for something else.

OA2 has solved that by making it harder to hide. With exploding blocks and better graphics, hiding out is no longer an option.

BP Gas Mania

BP Gas Mania is clearly a marketing ploy from BP, and yet I can't stop playing it.

Like other mania games, the objective is to serve your customers, keeping them happy and making sure to collect your money when they're ready to leave. In this case, you are pumping gas at the happiest little gas station in town.

Career mode lets you get a taste of the various tasks you need to accomplish for each customer. The tasks are repetitive in nature in that its always the same order: move them to the pump, start the pump up, get their extra from the counter, and then get the payment. But there's always a line waiting and you need to keep everyone happy.

Once you've beaten career mode, you can try unlimited. But it isn't actually unlimited (although after a while you may feel like it's never going to end). You can finish the game.

The music is quite catchy, but if it doesn't drive you mad within the first three levels then you obviously already have the sound turned off.

Bloons World

Bloons World, like Bloons and More Bloons has you taking out balloons with a dart throwing monkey. Only on the web, right?

World is the natural continuation in the series. But instead of 50 more levels for you to beat, you can create your own levels and submit them for others to play. Then you can randomly play any levels (or go to a specific one) submitted by others. Rate them each as you play so everyone else can get to know how good or how bad a level has been done.

It's a fun little time waster. Although, after randomly playing a few levels, people are way too in love with the pacman balloon.

Nanny Mania

Nanny Mania lets you take charge of the mayor's household as the nanny. Follow the baby around as it makes mess after mess, do the laundry, cook the food, clean up after the mayor comes back in tracking mud everywhere. It's a messy house and somebody has to clean it.

Click on any of the messes to clean them up. Some messes require multiple steps to finish cleaning, such as laundry, feeding or cleaning the baby and cooking the food. Sometimes, you can go from step to step without a problem, but if you end up stuck with a load of laundry in your hands with nowhere to put it, you could be in trouble.

Bloons and More Bloons

Bloons and More Bloons (50 more levels) are fun time wasters from fizzlebot. Aim and fire darts in an effort to blow balloons. That way you can move onto the next level and blow even more balloons up.

The monkey holds the dart in his hand. Simply aim with the mouse, then hold down the left mouse button to set your velocity, and let go to fire. Special balloons on each level (I found the pacman balloon particularly funny) help you out.

Bloons came out a short while ago and I spent a fun afternoon working my way through all 50 levels. More Bloons just came out and seems to be 50 more levels that are even more difficult and new specialized balloons. I haven't made my way through all 50 of the new ones, yet. I found the death star (#11, see image) to be particularly difficult.

Update: I'm getting a lot of traffic for people looking for a walkthrough for more bloons. If you're stuck on a particular level, post a comment below. If you leave the password for the level you're stuck on, I'll let you know how I beat it.

Chick Chick Bom

Powered by Nintendo, Chick Chick Boom would be better if you saw it on the DS. But if you have a tablet, or are just quick with a mouse, you could enjoy this light-hearted, destroy the rabbit's chicks game.

Draw your weaponry or your defense quickly to win this game. Otherwise, you could run out of chicks fast. Your weaponry consists of hot air balloons, bombs, weights, lightning, and poison mushrooms.

Dodge Game

Dodge Game is another reflex game. Simple and straightforward, but it might take your mind off the fact it's Friday and you're at work.

Simply avoid the red dots with your blue ball. Every time you touch the blue square, another red ball appears, making it harder to get to the blue square.

Here's a tip for you. Slow down to plan your next move, but then move quickly.

Of course, my high score is 150 so, you may want to figure it out on your own.

Snake

Fans of the classic snake game will enjoy this updated version. More realistic with more of a slithery feel, this version of snake may put shivers down your spine as you race around eating the mice, growing bigger and bigger. Just avoid your own tail and you'll be fine.

One minor thing I would ask for is sound. If you're going to put in all this time updating a classic like this, why not put in some sound, either background music or sound effects would have been nice.

One tip: the live mouse can be hard to spot. Keep your eyes open and look carefully for your next meal.

Sound Factory

Sound Factory lets you make music your way. Using instruments found in a tire factory, it's your self-appointed job to entertain your coworkers as they make their way through their boring day. Oh, but don't forget to fill your quota while you're at it. Unlock all the instruments and your boss won't bother you any more about that quota, either.

Your first instrument is the tires your supposed to be inflating. Over-inflate the tires, making them explode in rhythmic delight to set the base for your musical score. Some instruments are harder than others to get going.

If the boss walks through, shut down all the instruments as quickly as you can, otherwise, he'll kill all the fun (and you have to start the day over). Shut them down using their respective pictures at the bottom of the screen. It's a quick one click shut off. Getting them re-started is just as easy.

To unlock the instruments, you need to please your coworkers. It's not that hard, although the instruments where you pick the notes can be a little tricky. But, even though I have no ear for music, I was able to pass through fairly quickly. It only takes three working days to unlock all the instruments then you can make your music your way for as long as you like.

Zoo Panic is all about how good you are at navigating crowds.

When you were a kid, you used to zip between the adults blocking your view, right? Well, now's your chance to relive your glory days. Your objective is to view the giraffes at the top of the screen. Unfortunately, there's a big crowd at the zoo today, so you need to make your way to the top of the screen without bumping into other people.

Bump into people and your stress level goes up. Bump into too many people and the result will be a full blown panic attack. And we don't want that, hmmm?

Mercury Drops

Mercury Drops is a surprisingly fun, but simple game. Your objective is to survive by acquiring other mercury drops. The trick is, if you merge with another drop that is bigger than you are, you're the one that gets merged.

Simply point your mercury drop (marked by the star in the middle) in the direction you want using the mouse. There's no need to click.

Like the survival fish games, where you need to eat the smaller fish while avoiding the larger ones, this game is surprisingly fun. What's different about it this game is the levels. You have to beat each level as it comes, and what's worse is the more drops there are, the more likely a bunch of drops will merge on the other side and soon become too large for you to avoid or win.

Narwhaldiving

Narwhaldiving is simple but amusing. You are a narwhale. For some reason beyond reckoning, you've decided to practice highdiving into the ground from 220 feet up. Dive off into space, trying to hit the center of the bullseye.

Hit the space bar to jump. As you drift down, the wind will randomly push you one way or another. Get back on track using the arrow keys. That's basically it.

The highest I could get was 917. Don't expect to get addicted to this game, but it should be fun for a few jumps.

Mr Meaty The Game!

Mr Meaty is based on the cbc show of the same name. Take charge of Josh or Parker in an attempt to defend their jobs and their lives against the hordes of mice and headless chickens. Oh, and don't forget the security guards, the snakes, and the robotic cookers. And that's all before you get to the level bosses.

Use the arrow keys to move, space bar to fire (your ketchup and mustard bottles). Duck down to hit the mice. Multiple hits are needed to take down the security guard.

When you get to the level bosses, keep an eye on your health and theirs in the top left. This is a kids game, so if you're an experienced gamer, you should be able to finish this game fairly quickly.

Easter Egg Hop

Easter Egg Hop isn't much of a game, but it is Easter season, so there we go. Guide your bunny recruit in his quest to become a real Easter Bunny. Hop after those eggs and chicks to put into the easter baskets. The more you get, the better you've done. As each level ends, you'll eat more of the chocolate bunny.

Use your mouse to control which way the bunny hops. You don't need to click on anything, just guide the bunny in collecting the chicks, eggs and butterflies.

Tip: Prioritize the butterflies. They give you the speed boost you need to win. Avoid the hens, they do more than just peck, they slow you down.

Flow in Games is a very strange game. Dive down (eat the red centered creatures), eat and evolve. You are a ?water? creature and you are trying to evolve by eating smaller creatures, but don't get hurt/eaten by the larger creatures.

Use the mouse to point your creature in the direction you want to go. Hold the left mouse button to accelerate. Red for down, Blue to go up, orange is danger. Hit the + button to evolve.

I can't say I understand this game, but it certainly is interesting.

Run Horace, Run

Run Horace Run is a strangely addicting game that's about as simple as you can get. The ranger is after you with a tranquilizer gun, but all these lions and monkeys keep getting in your way!

Jump over the lions (up arrow) and duck under the monkeys (down arrow). That's it. That's all there is. There's nothing more! Try to get as far as you can.

Snack Attack

Snack Attack places you as server to this guy (see picture). Get his order, get it right, and get it now. Otherwise, you're walking home from the race.

Snack Attack: Operation Well Balanced Diet is a balancing act. You place your order, get a tray and try to walk up the stairs. Sounds easy right? Well, you have to balance your tray full of food as debris rains down (even tires!) the stairwell. Dodget the occasional shoe and dropped drinks along the way and you'll be fine.

Balance the tray using the mouse. Move left and right as you walk up the stairs in an effort to avoid the debris. Make sure there's at least one thing left on your tray, otherwise you lose a life.

Puff Ball is a crab on crab game of pong. Use your mouse to control your crab movement from left to right. If you hit the fish that cross your path, you can get bonus points, and sometimes some offensive bonuses.

It's a nice way to play pong again. The AI gets better on each level, so don't expect the game to stay as easy as it is on the first level.

I think the title pretty much says it all, but here are the details. Use the left arrow to move right, and the right arrow to move left. Sounds easy, right?

Well, what happens when the ball shoots off to the right and you your instinct is to move right. Well, you hit the right arrow button reflexively and boom.. you shoot off in the wrong direction.

There are plenty of little tricks and traps to keep you interested in each new level.

If you can manage to overcome your trained instincts in this game, it will probably ruin you for other games. Very addictive, but should entertain you during your lunch hour. Also, I like the funky background.

Stairway to Heaven

Stairway to Heaven is a single player flash game. You're objective is to get your ninja as high as you can by jumping up onto the next level. If you miss and fall of the screen, you lose a life. As you go up, records are falling down. Shoot them down (you really need to lead your shots in order to hit anything in this game) to score. If a death's head comes after you, you can't shoot it, but you can perform a spin attack when it gets too close. If it hits you, you will lose a life. As you climb, make sure you get the four golden records as they appear. Unlike the other records, these are stationary and are in hard to reach spots.

The weird part of this game is the lack of your ninja's ability to go side to side. You can jump up (up arrow key), perform a spin attack (down arrow key), and shoot an electric bundle at the falling records (left mouse). But you can't move left or right, making this seemingly simple game harder than it first appears. It is, however, a kids game, so don't expect to be too challenged.

Pop Pirates pits you against the viruses that are attacking your computer. With upgrades like firewall and killer-watt, you quickly get the idea behind this kid's game. Your computer is under attack, with viruses stealing your downloaded music. Your job is take out these viruses, and rescue your music (it seems like it's one note at a time).

Like so many other scrolling games, you fly by moving your mouse in the direction you want. I prefer to auto-fire (hold the left mouse button down) and blast away at the bad guys.

Tips: Once you get a homing missile, you can even tell where the next bad guy is going to come from even if you can't hit it yet.

Mouse Wars is a fly and shoot game. Your ship is the unique part of this game. Your ship is your cursor. No need to keep hitting the mouse button to shoot either. Simply move your mouse in front of your enemies as the your cursor has continuous fire. Sure, the graphics are simple, but who needs complexity?

Make sure to collect all the bonuses, but more important is to collect the health boxes that come along. This game is all about your high score, so try to kill as many enemies as you can.

Swoop to nuts is a game I first saw at jayisgames. Although swoop to nuts is a fairly simple game top play, you could end up addicted very quickly. You are a flying squirrel trying to collect as many nuts as you can before you head indoors for winter. Move your mouse left to swoop up and slow down and right to speed up and move down. Collect the nuts to get points and energy, and fly high to get mega points by hitting the stars. But stars won't give you any energy. Fewer nuts will show up the farther you go.

I had a lot of trouble with this game at first, I kept overcompensating swinging the mouse back and forth way too far. By increasing my control (moving the mouse less), I was able to fly much farther.

Drag snow together to build a snowman. Keep him alive by packing on more snow. Unfortunately, your neighbors are obviously jealous of your snowman making abilities and they have power tools! Look out for the bulldozers while building enough snowmen to move on to the next level.

Be quick or your snowmen will melt. Gather together snow after it builds up, but you have to have a quick mouse for this one.

The Viking is an arcade game that's as simple as you can get. Attack your enemies (space bar) as they rush you on the parapet. When your health gets low, head upstairs and grab some meat to restore your health (arrow keys to move). Hold off on getting that meat until you really need it though. It will respawn after a while.

This game is so simple, the only recommendation I can make about it is the fun cartoony characters. You should be able to waste a few minutes time with it, though.

Drive your drill around and collect the gems. Buy upgrades and fuel whenever you can. No, really, buy fuel as often as possible. It's not a hard game to play, but it can be hard to master.

The farther down you go, the more the gems are worth. You can upgrade your drill, bin, fuel tanks, etc... Reminds me of digdug, without the pump. Just keep digging down to continue the story line.

Mister Fox is more an exercise in old time black and white animation than it is a game. But that's what makes it fun. The game isn't hard, but if you ever watched steam boat willie and enjoyed it, you'll enjoy playing this game.

Ufo Joe puts you in the drivers seat of your own UFO. There's a shortage of animals in the zoo, and your job is to populate it with the strange creatures you can find in the universe. First stop: Earth!

Controls are simple, up, left and right with the arrow keys. Use the down arrow (or the space bar) to abduct, er... I mean collect the animals with your beam. Be careful to keep the beam on the animals though. If you lose lock, the animal will run away.

The nice thing about this lander game is it isn't that hard to land. Some of these games make it just about impossible to land on the pad.

Fancy pants is an adventure game with a fancy panted stick figure (is that english?). Take your hero, what there is of him, and jump and run through the world. At least, until you meet the angry penguin.

If anything, this game is too short, but there's still plenty to see and do. There are plenty of side adventures (doors) to go through, plus there are several trophies to find. All in all, I'd say this was a fun game that you should take your time and enjoy exploring.

Hint: you can jump on the spiders, but it's sometimes easier to just jump over them and move on.

Jamal and the Wasp Bunker puts you in charge of Jamal, the vegetarian spider. It seems wasps have invaded, carrying off some of the villagers. You being the biggest and best, have been sent to rescue them.

Jamal is a side scrolling adventure in which you jump, run, shoot your web, etc... Use the arrow keys to move left or right, up to jump. Shift will send out your web, you may need to swing a bit before letting go across any big gaps (shift again). You can also duck and walk to squeeze in places (see image). There's a nice tutorial level for any beginners. Just be careful, as you can die in the tutorial!

Undead the Mistletoe places you at the Christmas party at ACME Inc. Everything was going well until the evil Doctor Drako spiked the party punch, temporarily turning the staff into zombies! It's up to you to save the day. On each floor of the building you'll find one of the letters A N T I D O T and E. Collect each one in turn and take the lift to the next floor. Collect all eight to win the game. Collect presents on the way for extra points, and work fast because there's a time bonus! Good luck.

This is a cute, short game that should entertain you for a while. Try to avoid jumping up into the zombies (which I find a litte unfair... You can't jump through the floor above you, but you can die if the zombie is there).

Spike boy is a mario game remake. Your objective is to save the kids, but don't get hit by the enemy 'blobs'. There are some interesting differences here, drinks to get big or small. You can't just jump on the enemies, etc... But all in all, you will feel like you've played this game before.

Avoid the spike on the ground, but some of the 'treasure' is hidden behind the scenery, i.e. bushes and trees.

Scraper Caper is all about the important things in life, and that is Lunch! Unfortunately, you've forgotten your lunch up on top of the scraper being built. So get your oversized belly in gear and get your lunch back. Get some bonus points by hitting those snacks along the way.

Hint: The hook can be jumped over... In other words, the line that drops the hook can be jumped through. Also use your belly rumbles (the best name for an offensive weapon I've seen) wisely. Don't waste them on targets you can just jump over.

Chicken Little, the game

Chicken Little has missed the bus and it's up to you to help him get to school on time. Follow the bus as it heads to school, but it leaves the screen quickly so make sure you mark where it goes.

If you can, use the skateboard to increase your speed, but as the week goes along, it quickly becomes harder to use for more than a couple of seconds. There are just too many obstacles in the road and you can't use it off the road (hit spacebar to get off safely). Make sure to freeze time by grabbing the watch when it appears and take shortcuts through the sewer. Keep in mind that you can only use 'open' manhole covers. If you don't just drop right in, it's not open (even if someone else is peeking out of it).

This is a kids game and really not that challenging. There are only five levels (Monday through Friday) and the only objective is to beat the clock and get the best score possible. I was never late my first time playing. But the graphics are fun, and if you do have kids, they may enjoy playing it. The REM music in the background is a definite plus.

Miniclip has brought out a new flash game, David -- Dawn of a King. But first, you must work your way up. You start out as David did, hunting down lost sheep. The adventure will continue from there.

The controls are easy to work with. Use the arrow keys to move, space bar to hit/kick and return to switch your weapons. Mind, you won't get your weapons until later in the game. A nice feature is the autoduck when you approach an overhang that you can't walk under, David will automatically duck down so he can fit.

Some of the noises are annoying (What is that beeping)? But as you would expect from a Miniclip game, the graphics are good. Also there are many levels to explore and enjoy, so get out there and become a king.

Bubble Tanks

Bubble Tanks is an interesting idea. The graphics are really good for flash and the sound effects are decent. But without any real objectives or difficulty, it just isn't a lot of fun to keep playing.

Travel from bubble to bubble destroying all the other bubble tanks in each bubble. Pick up bubbles to power up. The bubble shield seems to be the final power-up(see the image). There are no bosses, although some tanks are bigger, and so take longer to destroy.

Suggested improvements include:

An objective. Traveling from bubble to bubble is fun to watch, but with no goal in mind, it's mindless.
Other/choice in upgrades would be nice. I happened to like the multiple shots, rather than the big shot. Also, since the other tanks get heat seekers, why don't I?
Some more difficulty. It wasn't that hard to kill everything. I was never in any danger. After I had traveled through 10 bubbles, I felt like I had seen it all.
A map. I managed to make it to the edge of the world, but I have no idea how many bubbles I had missed along the way.
Stats. This ties in with the whole objective thing. How many bubbles cleared? How many enemies? etc...

At the end of the day, I'm glad I saw this game. I enjoyed playing it once. I won't be back until there's improvements or a sequel.

Reindeer Tipping

Reindeer Tipping puts you in control of Ebenigma Scrooge in his quest to find joy and happiness by tipping reindeer. And not just any reindeer, but Santas own team of reindeer.

Travel around the pen (arrow keys) and each time one of the luckless reindeer fall asleep, come at them from above or below to knock them over. Keep Scrooge happy by avoiding any of the bazooka shots from those relentless penguins. Oh, and if Santa catches you, it's lights out.

Tip: Ruffling Rudolph is worth twice as much as any other deer!

Matrix Rampage is a simple arcade action. Shoot everyone else on the screen. Jump up and down within the building, destroying it as you go. Pick up any weapons and medical supplies as you go along. All this just to live as long as you can.

a is your action (hit/shoot/swing your sword) key. s to pick up an object. Move around with the arrow keys, including jumping up and down levels. Double move left or right to speed your way across.

Tips: Keep moving around the building. Meds pop up randomly throughout, so you want to go find them. Also, if something is thrown at you, you can hit it out of the air if you have a katana or stick.

Controls are basic (although they feel backwards). Use the arrow keys to manuever Mario, while s and a control your jumping and 'fire/speed up'.

3D missile in a tunnel game

Pilot your missile down a tunnel through the various obstacles. Speed and obstacles vary, and you only have a limited number of chances to work your way through. So, be careful out there.

Fly your missile by moving the mouse around. The qualifier was so easy, I was caught unprepared when I tried to ease my way through the first level. Your learning curve has to be high to make it through.

Overall, it's similar to other make your way through the tunnel games, but that doesn't make it any less fun. The music is right, the graphics are simple, and the movement is smooth. I had fun playing it.

Invasion of the Halloween Monsters

The Invasion of the Halloween Monsters is a nice (if corny) intro to the halloween season. Play as Dr Schwartz and help out the local kids as all of their candy has been stolen by the halloween monsters. Use your gravity gun to take out the monsters and collect the candy.

Bats, mini-monsters and zombies will come after you in wave after wave. Use your gravity gun to throw the mini-monsters in the air to kill them (and to get the **&^@*&$! bats), who are too 'quick' to hit with your gravity gun. Rip off the heads of the zombies and slam them into the ground to get rid of them. You can also pull off one of their arms to throw at the bats. Sometimes, the mini-monsters break up into smaller monsters, giving your more ammo to throw at the bats.

Once the monster dies, he may leave behind a health bottle or candy. So collect them all to move on to the next level.

Spectral Wizard

Spectral Wizard is the latest side scrolling adventure game from Miniclip. Re-colorize the world after your evil nephew turns everything into black and white using your spell book. Then go kick evil nephew butt.

Spectral Wizard is similar to previous adventure games from Miniclip, like David. Controls are straightforward. Use x to jump, z to hit, spacebar to 'do' things (pick up, drop, read signs, etc...). Use the left and right arrow keys to move around. Tab to get into and out of your spellbook/inventory.

You need to collect the colored spheres on each level and return them to the machine. Unfortunately, you can only pick up one sphere at a time. The spells make life easier, but take time to reload. And it takes time and experience to learn new spells (certain items need to be found, too).

Infect the red blood cells as quickly as you can to move on to the next level. You control a virus attacking the body. You want to increase your ability to reproduce and defend yourself against the white blood cells who want nothing more than to eliminate you from the blood stream you have infected.

It's a pretty simple game with a straightforward objective. Simply move your virus onto a red blood cell to infect it. Your objective each level is to infect x number to move on. In between levels, you can upgrade your virus capability to defend itself, damage others, or reproduce.

The soundtrack is fun and the graphics are nice (not stellar, but what do you want from a flash game?). You may become addicted.

World Defense

World Defense may be a misnomer for this game since you want to defend your buildings, not your world. Meteorites are bombarding your world, which is fine as long as they don't hit your buildings. So, try to turn your world in the right direction to avoid those nasty rocks.

Use the left mouse button to hold on tight to your world. Turn it in any direction to avoid the incoming meteorites. Each level gets harder, with more incoming rocks to avoid. Build up your points so you can buy the upgrades. Although the radar didn't help me all that much. I did like the super ozone upgrade, though. It was definitely a big help in the later levels.

While I wasn't very excited by this game, it was amusing enough to entertain me for a short time. I had to turn off the music, though.

Cake Mania

Cake Mania is a clone of Diner Dash, so if you like playing that game, you'll like playing this game for a while. The downloadable version has a lot more things to play with. The online trial was simple and a little disappointing. At least the diner dash trial gave you a real flavor for the game.

Cake Mania starts off with you coming home from culinary school to find your family bakery has been closed. Determined to get things going again, you start a bakery out of your own home. Bake those cakes with the frosting and shapes your customers want. Do it quickly and you might get a tip. Do it slowly and your business will fail.

Tip: the real focal point is the frosting station. Keep getting that station cleared as fast as you can.

Ninja Rinseout

Ninja Rinseout lets you play as a ninja (duh!). Try to sneak up on your opponents and take them out before they spot you. If they spot you, things are going to get hairy for you real fast.

Use the arrow keys to move around, jump and duck. Hit s to attack. Your objective is to save the girl, but you don't just want to finish the game. You want to do it as well as you possibly can. The game keeps track of the number of times you get spotted and how many kills you have.

Each time you die, you start right back on the same level so you get to try again, which is nice. There's nothing more frustrating than getting up to level five, dying, and having to start over from the beginning.

Wings 1915

Wings 1915 puts you in the cockpit for a real side scrolling dogfight. Take aim and fire at the red baron (all one million of 'em). This is one of those games that can go on forever, but can be fun to play at least once.

Control your plane with the mouse, fire your machine gun with the left mouse button. You can run out of ammo and fuel, so be careful. Pick up ammunition, fuel, wrenches (repair) and extra lives whenever you get the chance. The most annoying thing (and the only way I died when I played) was the suicidal planes that would back you up and eventually ram you.

My first time through: 39,930 points.

Castle Game

Castle Game 8 is a side scrolling avoider. You need to blast your way past the obstacles, while casting the right spell on the guards who are trying to stop you. You may have to blow them up with a bomb, turn them into a frog or dispel them, and that's just the first three levels.

In the meantime, you also need to avoid the obstacles by blowing them up and/or jumping over them or rolling under them. And everything is coming at you at a fast pace, so making sure you're doing the right thing at the right time can become quite a challenge.

But you're a wizard, so you can handle it, right?

RopeRunner

Roperunner is an original flash game at orisinal. Send out your ropes to hit the creatures, but you have to avoid others. If you take a look at the picture, your character is in the bottom right. The creature you want to hit with your rope is bottom left. The creature you want to avoid is top left. You can also see the little red balls that are left over after you hit the right creature. Run over and get those to keep your time limit up.

I like this game. The background music is a sort of irish/folk song, so if it gets to you don't forget to turn it off as it just keeps repeating.

Hints: follow your rope, but at an angle. Make sure you pick up the red balls. Although hitting more than one creature gives you bonus points, hitting the bad ones will send your time way down, so be careful with your shots. Pass up the bonus for multiple hits if you have to.

Mission at Dawn

Mission at Dawn (shockwave) puts you in control of a rescue chopper. There's an SOS at dawn. Despite the fog, your mission is to pick up the capsized souls slowly freezing in the atlantic, just off the coast.

Mission at Dawn has some great 3D graphics, but is lacking in some realism. Don't worry about the ship's spars, for instance, catching onto your rescue bin (space bar to lower). Just keep your chopper hovering over the people, and you should be fine. You can only rescure 4 people at a time, so head back to the base, drop them off (just land... the people magically disappear) and head back out.

Hints: look carefully around the ship for survivors, the ship can block them from view.

Prince of Persia

Prince of Persia available as a free online game. This is the old (early 90's) version. You (the Prince) must save the world from the evil Vizier who, in eight minutes, will release the Sands of Time magic, corrupting all the soldiers.

I remember playing this game for hours (on a friend's computer) and getting extremely frustrated by it. The Prince is hard to control and it can be very frustrating to get so far, and then have to start all over again. But, once I finished the game, I really felt like I had accomplished something.

Hints and Tips: Walk (hold the shift key) through the spikes on the floor. Also, approach any soldiers slowly as you need to let the computer shift you into combat mode. There's nothing more frustrating than running into an enemy soldier, except when you accidently shift (press down key) out of combat mode in the middle of a fight.

It helps if you learn where the poisons are and where the health potions are.

Space bar will make you jump forward.

Slowly approach any big (two story) drops. Turn around and hang onto the ledge before dropping down in order to save some health.

Don't face off against any soldiers until you have a sword to face them with!

Luckily there are only four possible items. But you really need to pay attention to what your customers are ordering. The items are easy to make, but it does take time to do it. Burgers and nuggets are automatically produced by hitting the button. But action is required for creating the juice and fries. So, prioritize and get to work. Remember, the customer is always right!

Like to blow things up? Then you'll love to play with fire in this flash game. Set bombs (semi-colon) and then get out of the way. The objective is simple. The player that survives, wins.

Set your bombs and collect the power-ups, including shoes (move faster) and bombs (which allows you to set more than one bomb at a time). You can play single player against, up to, 3 other computer players. Or there is a two player version.

I like the music and the sound effects are fun. The graphics are simple, but clean.

Tips: Let the computer guys blow themselves up. Be careful about blowback.

In a sequel to Top Dog, Top Dog 2 improves the game by adding space, speed and weapons. Now you have two weapons, a cannon (shift) and bullets (ctrl). Your opponent is smarter, but now you can land and get repaired (when available, it's slow to recharge). Take off by speeding up (throttle is up arrow) and pulling back (left arrow). Get into your opponents six and fire away.

The bullets are nice for throw away shots, but if you really want to do some damage you will need to get a hit with the slower cannon. If he gets onto your tail, put your nose down and speed away. As with the first game, shots don't go through the walls, so use that to your advantage.

Filler

I've been playing Filler for the past few days and despite it's simplicity, I'm still having fun. The objective is simple enough, fill in 2/3 of the box with your balls and you get to move on. Get hit by the balls flying around and you lose a life. Lose too many lives and it's game over.

To play, hold down the left mouse button. A 'filler ball' will begin to expand at that point until you let go of the button. Don't get hit by the 'flying balls' (ever play jezzball or qiz?). You can move your filler ball around by moving the mouse around while it is expanding.

If your filler ball hits another filler, it will stop growing. Walls do not stop the growth, while the flying balls kill it off. (I think the flying balls hit the filler balls too soon. It can be very frustrating, so err on the side of caution.) Once the filler ball is finished (you let it go), it will drop down to the bottom of the screen. The filler balls are not static and will bounce around, or be pushed off to the side. It's very hard to build up a 'wall' that you can work behind. It can be done, but it's not easy and it really isn't worth trying since the wall will just fall down a few moments later anyways.

Another tactic may be to just build hundreds of small filler balls until you get to the 66.6% mark, but you only have a limited number of filler balls to make. Once you run out, the game is not over, but you lose a life for every ball you create from that point on, so it's not a great strategy.

Instead, try to make your filler balls as big as you can when you can. Smaller filler balls can be used later on in each level to fill up those spaces, or just to make room. A great strategy is to work in the upper corners. Create a ball, let it drop away and then start making a new one. The first one you built will act as a shield allowing you to build the second one. As long as you wait a moment for the first one to start dropping away, you should be fine.

Warbears: An A.R. X-Mas Walkthrough

Warbears, an A.R. X-Mas Adventure lets you take charge of the Warbears once more, but this time it's serious. Kla is on a shopping adventure and Steve is on a mission to pull the ultimate prank.

Like the other warbear adventures, this is a point and click adventure with a little bit of wit and weirdness thrown in to keep things interesting. Click on anything and everything to work your way through the adventure. Don't forget to open up your inventory (top left) and combine the various items and try them out on other objects to move along. If you get stuck, there's a walkthrough below:

Walkthrough (Spoilers below!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Pick up the gift. Click on the fur scan on the far right. Go talk to Bob. Click on the fur scan again.

Go up and grab the batteries and the neon wires. You can't find the wires, though. Open up your inventory and click on the present. Click on the goggles and then on Kla to put them on. Click on the goggles (up in the inventory) to turn them on.

Click on E-dude, then on find item. Grab the wires.

Cut Scene

You are now Steve. Open Kla's wallet. Grab the taser and the BTE map. Give both to Bob (one at a time) to buy them. Go outside. Go to the far right to go off screen. Click on the bank (green highlight on the map).

Walk into the bank.

Play as Kla. Click on the far left to get the red thread (behind the cliff). Click on the blue thread (looks like a box to me?). Click on the virtual tree across the way. Talk to e-dude and get him to cut down the tree.

Grab the green thread after it bounces out of the tree. Go up the cliff, then jump down onto the tree. Head on over to the right side.

Play as Steve. Leave the bank screen to the right. Click on the park.

Talk to granps. Try Plan A and Plan B. Click on the locker. Look at the circuit panel. Head back to Bob's shop.

Talk to Bob: click on I want to order and choose the nuclear device. Open up the toolbox while Bob's gone (Be quick about it). Repeat the process (order another nuclear device) to get Bob out of the way long enough to grab the screwdriver. GO back to the park.

Open the circuit board with the screwdriver. Use the taser on it circuit. Talk to granps and select plan c. Use the taser on the circuit again. Head on over to the bank and talk to granps.

Go back to Bobs and grab the hacking device. Give it to Bob to purchase it with your reward money. Use the hacking device on the door upstairs (panel next to the door). Go in the door.

Play as Kla. Place the threads into the boxes below the tree in the following order (red, green, and blue) as the tree lights up in those colors.

Play as Steve: Pick up the wires, batteries and neon lights. Connect the wires to the neon lights. Connect those to the batteries.

Kla defeates the evil spirit of X-mas. Click on Get out of here.

Coffee Shop

Coffee Shop is the latest lemonade stand look alike from armorgames. (That's not to imply that armorgames comes out with look alikes every week, but that I've seen other lemonade stand look alikes before. And if you don't know what I mean by the lemonade stand game, then you must be under the age of 5.). This one is graphically pleasing, with lots of fun animations to find and enjoy.

Like lemonade stand, the challenge is to find the best mixture possible between coffee, sugar, and milk, while still having enough cups each day to serve everyone. After that, it's just a matter of finding the right price to charge depending on the weather.

If you're reputation goes up high enough, maybe even the pope will stop by for a quick drink.

The better your coffee, the more you can sell your coffee for. But for a laugh, on day 14, make the worst cup of coffee you can and sell it for as much as you can. Everyone will still stop by and since you're closing shop tomorrow, it doesn't matter if they all start puking their guts out on the sidewalk.

Gravity Pods

Gravity Pods is a puzzle game in which you're job is to shoot the target. And while the first couple dozen of levels are fairly straightforward and easy, the remaining ones are tough.

I don't really understand why this one is so popular. I've seen it all over the place and it keeps getting linked to. But I just don't see why. It quickly becomes guess the right angle to shoot at and there's no real puzzle to it. It also takes way to long to become a challenge.

But, perhaps you're like the others who have linked to it and like this sort of game. If so, play Gravity Pods at wickedpissahgames (maybe it's the name of the site that makes it so much fun for people?)

Starshine is a simple puzzle game. Try to aim your shooting star so that all of the stars light up. Easy? No. But there's a walkthrough below that will help you.

BTW, I did this using trial and error. Also, you will probably have to turn your speakers off after a few levels. The song, while nice enough at first, is just a continuous loop that moves into your brain and slowly drives you batty.

Eye Defence

Eye Defence is a mixture of grow, hapland and defend your castle. You control a gross eye thing (their wording, not mine) from hordes of mechanical soldiers. That's a fairly good description if by hordes, they mean about a dozen. There are only three levels, and despite how frustrating it is to figure out a good way to win, I wanted more by the end.

Place the various items that pop up in your inventory onto your gross eye thing. By placing them in the right place at the right time, you can defend yourself from the attackers. Place them in the wrong place, shoot at the wrong time, or just make one mistake and its game over.

The nice part about having to start over, however, you don't have to go back to level one. You just restart on the level you're on.

Hint, the rotational devices can be placed on the eye or at the end of the sticks. By combining them, you can reach pretty far and cover a wide area. Also, on level two, the flame throwing thing with the pointed ears takes a few hits before it goes down. To get past him, you'll need to hit him multiple times, probably with two different saws. Also, if you're trying to rely on the rockets that fly around to hit your enemies, you're on the wrong track.

If you're stuck, there's a nice walkthrough posted by will7303 at jayisgames. I needed the help to get through level 2 because I didn't think about how to combine the sticks with the rotational devices. I was trying to rely on the rockets, which left me short when the ufo flew by and dropped its bomb on me.

Slitherlink

Slitherlink is a tough puzzle game based on a Japanese paper logic game. Draw one line along the edges of the squares so that each box that is marked with a number has the correct number of lines passing it by. So, if the box has a three in it, that box should have three of its four edges covered by a line to solve the puzzle.

No figure eights, no loops (except for the big one) and you have to draw your line on the edges. Keep in mind you can block off edges by using shift and the left mouse button to put an x on that edge. Its a very useful tool for helping you picture the solution.

See the picture... I've made a mistake somewhere and can't finish the one on the left, as is. On the right, I've made my corrections and finished this puzzle. On to the next!

Quite addicting and frustrating at the same time. There are 75 puzzles in all, 25 easy, 25 medium and 25 hard. I'm having trouble getting through the easy ones.

Unfortunately, the game does not save your progress for you, but you can figure out where you left off last time.

BoomShine

Boomshine is a nice, relaxing game that can help you get through hump day. There's no skill involved, unless you're one of those rare people who can track 60 balls that start off in random directions.

Click anywhere on the playing field to set off a chain reaction of exploding balls. Each level has a particular goal. Blow one ball on level 1, 2 on level 2 and so on until you get to level 12 when you need to blow 55 out of the 60 balls floating around.

Boomshine refers to those lucky few times (and I mean very few times) that you clear the whole screen.

No noisy explosions, just calm soothing music. If you're one of the uber-competitive, this is not the game for you, since you'll start throwing things on the last level. If you just want to relax, enjoy the music and the show, then play boomshine at k2xl.

GROW nano vol.2

Grow Nano Vol.2 is the shortest in the Grow series, but still lots of fun. Choose the objects in the right order to maximize each items potential. When you're done, you'll have helped the baby bird back into it's nest.

With just three options (cape, stick and headgear), this game doesn't need a walkthrough. Just keep trying. There is a bonus, in case you don't pick them in the right order. But it's not a very exciting bonus. It simply produces a number trail on the tree which, when you push the button, opens up the game vanilla.

Oshidama

Oshidama is a puzzle game. Move the ball to the exit without dropping into a black hole or running out of pushes. Each time you hit the ball with your cursor counts as a push.

Fairly simple gameplay coupled with a relaxing sound track gives this solitaire game a soothing effect. So, if you want to just relax and play for a while, this may be the game for you.

Each level is graded, so you can get a feel for how well you're doing. Also, you can go back to any level you've completed and try again.

Hint: It may look like it, but the ball may still be moving at the end of its push. If you're right on the edge of the finish line, wait a few moments and see if the ball drops in. Also, you can skirt the edges of the black holes without falling in.

Rings

Rings is a new type of solitaire game based on the old childhood game of, you guessed it, rings. Place the rings in order from largest to smallest while avoiding any small to large combinations and you can go far. Mess up once, however, and it's game over.

The rings come out from the center. Make sure the new rings lands on an empty spot, or a spot with a larger ring underneath. Then, build up your ring towers from largest to smallest (green, red, blue, yellow) for the largest number of points. Any towers with yellow at the top will be eliminated. So blue, yellow will count, even if there is a green ring underneath it (the green ring will not go away).

Keep up your speed and you should be fine.

Amplitude

Amplitude takes you (the ball) through 10 worlds, 100 levels and 2 bosses to the end. And if you think it's easy, think again. While some of the levels leave you wondering why they even bothered, those are the ones that get you addicted. You start thinking "this is easy" so when it becomes more difficult, you keep on trying to make it through.

Controls are simple, and the gameplay is just as basic. Avoid hitting any of the walls, while you run over various objects that can help you (or hinder you) on your way through.

Break through walls, blast away others, blow walls up or blow yourself up to do the same thing, teleportation, perspective changes, etc... All these add up to make this a challenging, difficult game.

Dr3I V3 is the best mouse avoidance game I've played. Flash based, you need to avoid the walls and other objects in order to get to your goals.

But this avoidance game is tricky. First, the field is moving, making it a side-scrolling game. Second, you need to collect all the + and - dots on the screen. These dots affect the gameplay, however. The pluses will speed up the moving objects, while the negatives, slow them down. And then there's the beast.

The beast is a gaseous cloud that chases you down. So, you're never able to sit still and wait. You will be kept moving (probably in circles) and more importantly, you won't be able to just move into some small crawl spaces, since the beast will trap you inside. Oh, and did I mention every time you hit a plus sign, the beast will get faster and bigger? Negative signs have the opposite affect.
