Warlords: Call to Arms

Warlords Call to ArmsWarlords is a strategy war game that just isn't all that strategic. Build your army one guy at a time and send him across the board. The bigger your guy is, the longer it takes for him to be sent. The number of men (or demons or elves or ...) you can build is very impressive.

Unfortunately, as I already said, this game isn't that hard to beat. Here's how to do it in 4 steps

1) Always choose the hardest level to beat. While it may make sense to beat the easier levels first, it actually makes it harder in the long run as the difficulty increases with each level. Buying upgrades is nice, but not key to winning.

2) Set your options to auto release. Either that or get used to holding the space bar down.

3) Send 95% of your guys along one row (as you can see from the picture).

4) Select charge when you can.

And that's it. You'll beat every level by overwhelming that one row of attackers. The only exception is when you face off against the troll giants, as they can stomp right along that one row. In that level, just send your speediest guys along every row (in other words, spread out your attack).

By beating the harder levels first, you'll have an easier time completing the game at the end.

I had fun playing this game, it's too bad I figured out such an easy way to beat it. Playing as the demons isn't all that different from playing with any other race, so I'm not sure how much of a
reward they are.

Deal or No Deal

Deal or No Deal the flash game. You too can win one million dollars! Or, at least you can waste some time fantasizing about winning one million dollars.

It's the TV show come to the web as a flash game. Keep on picking those briefcases. The banker will try to tantalize you into making a deal by offering you money you can just walk away with. It's all about random chance, so deal or no deal, it's up to you.

German Cow Game

I first saw this game at GEG. Get your cow to the goal to complete each level. Some levels are harder than others, but some are so easy to be funny.

Place an arrow to guide the cows where you want to. You may need to get a key to open a door, or you may need to move a hay bale, or you may need one cow to move another.

My strategy is to test as I go along. I place some arrows and see what happens. There's no penalty for trying, so hit the 'run' button and get the cows moving faster. Also, red arrows will disappear after a cow passes over it, but blue arrows stay.

If you happen to understand German (I think it's German?), the directions for each level may be interesting/helpful. Unfortunately, I can't read them. That didn't stop me from enjoying this game. Click on the cows in the bottom right to get your level code (if you want to come back and play later).

Play the flash game: German Cow Game (I'm not even sure what the real name is!).

Over 3,200 flash and java games listed

I saw this over at del.icio.us popular list. Take a look for your favorite games/categories at this list of over 3,200 flash and java games.

Parking Zone

Parking Zone is a straightforward puzzle game. Click on a car to make it move to the empty space. The object is to get each car into it's matching color spot. Sometimes the simplest games can be the most fun to play.

Play Parking Zone at nothingtodo. They've labeled it as a strategy game, but I would categorize it as a puzzle game.

Top Dog

Top Dog pits you against the computer in a biplane fight to the finish. Get airborne, capture the high ground and fire and take out your opponent before he takes you.

In Top Dog, you are flying in a biplane, so don't expect too much speed or control. You will have to lead your shots. Throttle up (up arrow), turn (left and right arrows) and fire away (space bar). You can do flips and even fly upside down, but remember that your opponent isn't playing games, he's trying to take you down. Also, you can crash into the ground, so be careful. Shots don't go through the sides of the screen so feel free to run away from your opponents fire by flying to the other side. You have but one life, so use it wisely.

Christmas Castle Defense

Are you addicted to defend your castle? You may be interested in trying out this seasonal variant. Defend your castle from the oncoming masses, but the tactics are different. In this version, your castle (santa's castle) is slowly being buried by the snow. So throw away the snow, melt it, toss the guys into it, blow up the machines, etc... Anything you can do to melt some more snow before your castle is buried.

Battle for Gondor

It's up to you save Gondor and middle earth from the invading orc army. Do you have what it takes to battle through 20 levels of mayhem?

This strategy game is a little bit addicting, but a lot of fun. Your hero's job is to clear out the top half, while your troops (hobbits, knights, elven archers, dwarven warriors, wizards, etc...) clear out the bottom half. In order to hire more troops, your hero has to kill the orcs streaming in on the top half.

Don't let any of them get past you! I've noticed a tendency to let them pass me by when they are near the bottom of your hero's section. They tend to blend in with the battle below.

Play Battle for Gondor at mofunzone.

Castle Attack 2

The basic premise is defend your castle, but in 3-D and a whole lot more. You have several archers, plus some big time weapons to use on your enemies. But for every archer you use, you have one less worker for building your castle. When your castle is done, the level is done. Pour oil on enemies (z) at your gate, use the mangonel (x) on enemies who are still approaching, and roll some burning logs onto everyone (c). Aim your archers and fire away (space bar). How many levels can you beat?

Starcraft FA 3

Are you a fan of Starcraft? You might like this online game with units from starcraft. Defend your base from the zerg invasion. Your men will not be under attack, but if enough zerg break through your defenses, you will lose your base.

MoFunZone has Starcraft FA 3 online.

Paint Buckets

An unusual strategy game, so if you're looking for something different, try out paint buckets. Or maybe (just maybe) you have an inner artist wanting to get out.

Pour buckets onto a picture until you have a blank slate. World Winner places you up against another player for chances to win cash and prizes.

Age of Castles

A fun strategy game. Build your castle and resources up and then defend it using soldiers. Set your peasants to work being merchants, builders, clerics and soldiers. Soldiers are used to defend your castle.

The more you have, the better your attack and defense. If you have more merchants, you'll make more money. More builders means your castle is built faster, and the more clerics you have, the better you are at recruiting new peasants. The trick is to balance the four categories. Battles are fought by choosing to fight or retreat and that's it. Magic crystals are used to buy upgrades.

Play the first three levels online at 247webgames, download the trial version to continue.

Massive Attack

It's another 'defend your castle' clone. But I like it. Soldiers come in groups, horsemen will charge ahead. Destroy the tanks quickly or you will pay!

Either way, take a click on everything that moves, else you will lose your base. Play massive attack.

Aces High

Aces Hightakes the art and science of vintage WWII air combat and sets it in an online high intensity environment where hundreds of players can battle it out with each other. High fidelity air combat is the heart of Aces High, but it doesn't end there. In addition to flying a multitude of aircraft types, players can also man vehicles, boats, amphibs, gun batteries, and ships. It's the most diverse virtual arsenal available to players in this genre and it's constantly growing through frequent updates. In the air, on land, and at sea, the battle rages 24 hours a day with participants from around the world.

You can play for two weeks free or they have a free 8 player mode.

Commando 2

Misleading title, but a good flash game none the less. Build up your army by prioritizing your building queues. Use your superpowers wisely and you can win. There are 4 types of 'superpowers': Lightning wipes out everything on the board, zeppelin drop 12 gnomes off at a random spot, summon troll, or set off a bolt bomb. Build your base up when you can and remember to use the lightning strike when you need to.

Make sure to read the directions fully before starting this game. You can find it over at theflashgames.com.

Online Adventures

You can try out Puzzle Pirates or Runescape for free from Miniclip.

Puzzle Pirates is a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) allowing you to create your own pirate and participate in swashbuckling adventures on the highseas. The strange but fun part of puzzle pirates is all the 'actions' occur as puzzles. For instance fights occur using a tetris like interface. You have to see it to really understand.

Runescape is a MMORPG that is so addicting it's hard to believe. It's easy to get started but hard to advance (too far) in any one category. But if you persevere (and I really do mean persevere), you can become really talented in your specialty, allowing you to make some big bucks (not real money). Working with others becomes a must. For instance, if you want to become a miner, you can sell what you mine to a store. But you might be better off making a good deal with another player who is a metalworker.

Rodent Tree Jump

Rodent Tree Jump has you jumping out of a tree (you are the rodent) and bouncing off a conveniently located trampoline. Set your angle and velocity to land as close to the target as you can.

You get three jumps in each attempt to come in first place for that league. Fail to come in first and you end up repeating the jump. There are six leagues to beat before you become champion.

There are three other (computer) rodents jumping with you each time. And there's nothing more frustrating than landing on the target and being bumped off it by one of them.

The different surfaces (that you land on) react differently, necessitating a change in strategy with each league. For some, you might want to set your angle higher, and for others you'll want to skip along at a lower angle.

BTW, your points depend on two things. What your average distance from the target was on the successful try to move on and how many attempts you needed to beat each league.

Air Monkey

Air Monkey is a one button game. Help the monkey get to the club house by jumping from line to line.

Instructions are about as easy as you can get. Use the left mouse button to release and jump to the next swinging rope. There's not much strategy to this game. Hint: Jump in the direction of more ropes. If you miss your target, you may grab another one as you fall.

This game is good for those few odd moments when you absolutely don't want to think about anything.

Tanked Up

Tanked up is the newest game from miniclip created by nitrome. Race around the track in tanks. Either shoot your way to victory, or let the track blow up your opponents. But either way, you still need to be the first to cross the finish line.

It takes time to master aiming, shooting and driving at the same time. Do yourself a favor and concentrate on the driving. The best strategy is to get in front, then stay there. Once you fall too far behind, you probably won't be able to catch up.

Don't get caught up in any pile-ups. The AI in the other tanks aim for you first. Also, don't get caught up in a one-on-one firefight. It's a losing proposition, even if you do blow up the other tank (and it takes a long time to blow up a tank), the other racers will have finished by the time you're done.

The first few levels are easy to beat, but once the track starts taking aim at you, it becomes harder to finish.

Swords and Sandals

Swords and Sandals is a gladiator fighting game. Build your customizable character up the way you want to. Arm and armour him and then place him in the ring to fight his way up the ladder.

What I like about this game is the customisation possibilities. Your character is definitely your own. You can also create leagues, but with a brand new game you aren't going to see many others online, yet.

What I don't like. Once you're dead, you have to start over from the beginning. I can understand losing something, falling back a few levels. But to work your way up through the riff-raff again is a real pain.

Tips: It seems building up your strength at first is really important, but I haven't played enough to truly determine a great strategy. You'll have to find it on your own.
